Who are Double Eagle?
Known by many for their inexpensive and quality range of replicas, Double Eagle have excelled at offering budget replicas with a high internal build quality. Offering an ever expanding variety of AR15 replicas with their M904, M906, M907 and M908 Ranges, they also have several unique models alongside some officially licensed replicas. The external construction of these replicas are always solid and vary between aluminium alloy and nylon reinforced polymer or a mixture of the two. Internally they all use DE’s Version 2 gearbox with a quick change spring system and typically either DE’s ‘Falcon’ or Eshooters ‘Kestral’ control systems and is rounded off with a solid rotary hop unit.
The DE M917G
The M917G UTR45 is a compact SMG with an overall length of 61cm (24”) including its 7” monolithic style intergrated upper receiver and rail. This replica SMG features bolt on piccaninny rail sections for accessories, ambidextrous controls, a rubberised pistol grip alongside a SCAR style stock and utilises a proprietary mid cap magazine. It is lightweight but durable as a result of its nylon reinforced polymer receiver set with some metal components such as the outer barrel which leads to a well balanced feel. Overall, this makes for an ideal AEG for close quarters engagements and lends itself to those wanting something compact and lightweight but is not an AR15.

The Internals
The M917G uses DE’s “Falcon” Version 2 Gearbox which features a Quick Change Spring system and the Falcon Electronic Control System. This Control System gives you the ability to adjust the trigger sensitivity (3 Options) and change the fire modes (Binary option for the Semi position and 1-5rnd Burst for the auto position) as well as having built in motor and battery protection. Outside of these features, this Version 2 Gearbox uses 8mm Ball Bearings alongside standard Version 2 components. This is paired with DE’s rotary hop up unit with a standard AEG hop rubber and nub set up.
These internals give good reliable performance with the added benefit of a control system and where this gearbox is compatible with numerous after market parts, you have the ability to upgrade and further enhance the characteristics you desire in the future.
